Meet Asha Edouard: The Woman Behind In Grace Yoga Therapy
What does healing look like when we allow ourselves to consider the whole person rather than focusing on just one part of them?
For Asha Edouard, healing is a multidimensional experience that can involve the body, mind, spirit, culture, ancestry, and the experiences that shape who we are.
As the founder of In Grace Yoga Therapy, Asha has created a wellness practice that brings together her work as a spiritual social worker, trauma-sensitive yoga instructor, Reiki Master, womb healer, and birth worker. Her approach offers people space to explore wellness and self-discovery through practices that acknowledge the connection between physical, emotional, spiritual, and energetic well-being.
Meet Asha Edouard
Asha Edouard is a Haitian American spiritual social worker, trauma-sensitive yoga instructor, Reiki Master, womb healer, and birth worker whose work has grown from both professional training and personal experiences with healing.
Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Social Work, and a Master of Social Work from Howard University. She has also pursued specialized training in trauma-sensitive yoga, Reiki, and full-spectrum doula work, bringing together disciplines that might traditionally exist in separate spaces.
That combination is part of what makes In Grace Yoga Therapy so distinctive. Asha's work is not centered on a single practice or one definition of wellness. Instead, she creates opportunities for people to explore different pathways to healing, self-awareness, spirituality, and connection.
Her own relationship with yoga played an important role in shaping this work. After discovering yoga during a difficult period in her life in Brooklyn, what began as attending a class became an experience that gave her room to breathe, be present, and simply exist without having to measure her worth through productivity. That experience eventually became part of the foundation for the work she now offers others.
Creating a More Holistic Approach to Wellness
At In Grace Yoga Therapy, wellness is approached as something that can extend beyond the physical body. Asha's offerings include trauma-informed yoga, meditation, Reiki and energy balancing, sound therapy, spiritual wellness, energy coaching, and womb-centered practices.
For people who are accustomed to thinking about wellness primarily through conventional approaches, this can open the door to a different kind of exploration. Rather than suggesting that there is one path that works for everyone, Asha creates space for people to discover the practices that resonate with their own experiences and needs.
Her work also speaks particularly to women of color and others who are interested in exploring culturally grounded and complementary approaches to wellness. Through her practice, Asha brings together professional knowledge, spiritual practices, and ancestral traditions to create spaces where people can explore their well-being in a way that feels more connected to who they are.
Womb Wellness, Culture, and Ancestral Wisdom
Womb wellness is another important part of Asha's work. Through her Womb Mastery offerings, she explores practices that can include womb-centered meditation, ceremonial practices, postpartum traditions, herbal wisdom, and trauma-informed approaches to supporting women.
Her approach to womb wellness is also connected to culture and ancestry. As a Haitian American woman, Asha incorporates elements of Haitian heritage and ancestral wisdom into aspects of her work, particularly around birthwork and womb wellness.
Supporting Women Through Birth and Beyond
Asha's work also extends into birthwork, where she supports women through some of the most significant transitions of their lives. Through her Birth Collective, her work encompasses fertility, birth, postpartum care, and bereavement.
Her approach to birthwork combines emotional support, education, advocacy, comfort measures, and cultural and spiritual considerations. It reflects the same holistic philosophy that runs throughout In Grace Yoga Therapy: people deserve to be seen as whole individuals, and their experiences deserve to be supported with care and intention.
This work is particularly meaningful because birth and postpartum experiences can involve so much more than the physical aspects of pregnancy and delivery. They can also bring emotional, spiritual, cultural, and personal changes. Asha's work creates space for those dimensions to be acknowledged as well.
Creating Opportunities to Learn and Grow
In Grace Yoga Therapy is also about education. Asha has developed opportunities for people who want to deepen their own practices or learn how to support others through different wellness modalities.
Her offerings include Reiki energy therapist training, spiritual mentorship, womb practitioner training, medicine woman training, and spiritual death doula training. Her Womb Practitioner training, for example, brings together education, hands-on experiences, ceremonial practices, trauma-informed approaches, and community.
This educational side of her work allows Asha to extend her impact beyond one-on-one wellness experiences. She is not only sharing the practices that have become part of her own work; she is also creating opportunities for others to learn, develop their own understanding, and bring these practices into their communities.
A Different Way to Think About Healing
What makes Asha's story so compelling is the way all of these pieces come together. Her background in social work, her work with yoga and Reiki, her experience as a birth worker, her focus on womb wellness, and her connection to Haitian and ancestral traditions are not separate parts of her story. Together, they inform the work she has created through In Grace Yoga Therapy.
Her work is a reminder that there does not have to be only one way to approach wellness. Sometimes the journey involves learning to slow down and listen to yourself. Sometimes it involves reconnecting with your body, your culture, your spirituality, or traditions that have been part of your history. And sometimes it simply begins with creating enough space to ask yourself what you need.
For Asha, that space is at the heart of the work.
